India Steps Up to Protect its Tigers

A new tracking system has been implemented in India to help track endangered tigers. Officials are cracking down on “lazy” wildlife guards who’ve been known to invent tiger survey data, instead of going out into the field. The new tracking program will help prevent this malpractice and hopefully help cut down on poaching. With Indian tiger numbers only around 1,350 individuals, the cats need all the help they can get.
