In exotic locations on six continents, Bruce Reitherman has produced, written, directed, and shot programs variously broadcast by Disney/ABC, PBS, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, the BBC and a host of other international outlets. ReithermanÂ’s innovative abilities have been showcased in over 25 major program broadcasts emphasizing adventurous people on the go, landscape, wildlife, Olympic athletics and winter sports. Recent projects produced, written and shot by Reitherman include three episodes of the acclaimed PBS Series The Living Edens (Big Sur; Thailand; and Denali), two episodes of the WNET series Nature, and the kick-off episode of the Disney/ABC series The New True Life Adventures entitled Alaska: Dances of the Caribou.

Reitherman has earned three personal Emmy Award nominations (one win) for Special Achievements in Cinematography, and programs produced by him have won a total of eight Emmy nominations overall. He has demonstrated capabilities as a director and writer of seven prime-time broadcasts. With 20 yearÂ’s experience wearing many hats in the documentary field, Reitherman is equally at home developing program proposals, directing and shooting on location, or spearheading post-production.

After graduating from U.C. Berkeley with an independent major in Natural Resources in 1977, subsequent work experience has included stints as a river guide, naturalist, expedition leader, field biologist and environmental consultant.
