Peter G. Merritt specializes in nature-related videos and the production of environmental education programs. The main focus of his work has been on the behavior, ecology, and conservation of birds in Florida and the Bahamas. Also, he has concentrated on capturing high definition video of warblers and other Neotropical migrant birds throughout eastern North America. He enjoys the challenge of visiting remote areas to record the natural activities of wildlife in their native habitat. His videos are featured in documentary and environmental education programs. Dr. Merritt is the author and coauthor of a number of scientific articles dealing with the behavior and ecology of birds. He received a M.A. degree from Western Michigan University in 1977, and a Ph.D. from the University of Miami in 1985.
