Getting started with OceanFootage.com involves several basic steps on your part:
1. Submit your footage
To start, you’ll need to submit a compilation of your best footage. Once your initial submission is accepted, you can submit additional material at any time. Creating a Compilation Tape
2. Sign the Representation Agreement
The Representation Agreement ensures your rights are protected, since your footage is your valuable intellectual property. When you Sign Up online or Contact Us about becoming a provider, we will send you a copy of the agreement. Please review it carefully and return the signed Representation Agreement, along with your Compilation Tape.
3. Use ClipLog™ to Index and Price Your Footage
Once you submit your footage, a highly experienced media professional reviews your compilation, selects all footage that is appropriate for the site(s), processes the selected clips for online preview with the OceanFootage or NatureFootage watermark, and creates your online account.
You then have access to our online ClipLog system to set your pricing and index keywords for each clip. You will also setup your Profile page with your biographical information and featured clips.
4. Place Your Footage Online
Most Stock Footage Representatives only place a small sampling of your footage online, or none at all. At Footage Search, all of your footage that meets our quality criteria will be available for immediate online search, preview, and sales. In addition, you get market promotion on the OceanFootage and/or NatureFootage web sites through your own Profile page.
When you are ready to do so, you will place your account online, accessible for searching via the major Search Engines as well as OceanFootage or NatureFootage websites. At any time, you can modify your Profile page or ClipLog information.
5. Seamless Integration With Your Web Site (Optional)
Footage Search will provide you (or your web site developer) with a link to access your online stock footage collection. The link will direct your clients to the Footage Search server at the following domain: stockfootage.yourdomain.com, or in some cases at www.yourdomain.com. We can provide a seamless integration of the Footage Search technology with your existing web site, for online search, preview, purchase and delivery.
6. Receive Royalty Payments
There are no up-front costs to join Footage Search. Footage Search handles all aspects of the sale of your footage, including licensing. Royalty payments (of sales less commission) are paid to you quarterly. Each check you receive includes a statement describing all footage sales, including Clip ID, durations used, and license terms.
