Spider wasp (family Pompilidae) bite off the legs of large hairy spiders such as Huntsman Spiders (Sparassidae), trimming them to make them easier to handle. On finding a spider, the wasp stings and paralyses it, removes the legs if it is a large spider for easy transport then drags it back to it's burrow or finds a burrow (cell) to lays her egg on the spider's body. The larva hatches and feeds on the body of the spider before pupating in a silky cocoon in the cell.
