OceanX Media Video Profile

Biography

OceanX Media is part of OceanX, a non-profit organization on a mission to explore the ocean and bring it back to the world. We aim to create greater understanding of its extraordinary ecosystems, stoke passion about them, and ultimately produce responsible stewardship of them. By integrating scientific investigation with visual storytelling, we are pushing excitement about and knowledge of the oceans, and the communities that depend on them, into the broader public consciousness.

Our expeditions occur onboard a state-of-the-art vessel that is both a floating research institute and world-class media production studio, voyaging to the farthest reaches of the world’s oceans. With manned submersibles, remotely controlled robots, and autonomous free-swimming "underwater drones" working in concert, we are able to go where others have not to tell stories that have never been told.

Our journeys are documented by award-winning directors and cinematographers in compelling and stunning video. We shoot with the world’s most advanced underwater cameras, capturing 8K footage as deep as 1,000 meters. Working with production, broadcasting, and digital partners, we share our content through TV shows, giant-screen films, and digital and social channels. Our goal is to reach the widest possible audience with the most appropriate content, so that they are swept away by the ocean whenever and wherever they engage.
