A chain of salp (plural salps), which looks like a series of connected jellyfish. Also called salpa (plural salpae or salpas). Salps are barrel-shaped tunicates. Salps are transparent, tubular, gelatinous animals. It moves by contracting and pumping water through its gelatinous body. Each salp strains ocean water through its internal filters to feed on phytoplankton. This is a multi-salp organism floating in Pacific Ocean. Good sunrays in pretty blue water.
