RARE full body view of a blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus), the whale swims while a human is at the surface, it makes good perspective of the whale’s size. (Swimmer has fins and snorkel but NO TANK, not scuba.) See entire length of this rare blue whale, including face and eye and mouth and blowholes (nostrils) and the pectoral fins and whole body and tiny dorsal fin and wrinkles or pleats of skin underside, and tail. (A short salp chain briefly passes by the camera, a planktic tunicate.) The whale leaves “footprints” of white bubbles at the surface of the ocean, wherever takes a breath. Pretty ocean surface, reflective, seen from below. In Pacific Ocean near San Diego, California, this blue whale sub species is (Balaenoptera musculus musculus). This baleen whale is attracted by krill (Euphausia pacifica) in the water, see few tiny pink bits passing by camera in upper corners where krill catch the light. The water has many particles in it, this is the abundant krill or plankton. Good long shot, at the end, see the blue whale disappearing while a small boat floats at right edge of frame. Healthy Ocean. North America West Coast.
